The farmhouse

The farmhouse

We keep the Cortijo as it was more than a hundred years ago

The main access to the farmhouse is from the south, where the threshing floor is located, understood today as a maneuvering esplanade. The farmhouse is preserved as it was in the 30s of the last century, when the driving force was provided by animals and mechanization was scarce. Below is a map with the different buildings that make up the Cortijo:

The different buildings of the farmhouse are described below:

The structure of the farmhouse is open and is made up of four free-standing built volumes, all arranged along the same axes. One of them, the furthest from the main nucleus, is recently built and is used as a warehouse for machinery – close to the era -. The other three volumes are very close and house the manor, a housing area and the livestock and economic center of the farm.

The oxen shed and the haystack were two fundamental rooms of the Mingaobez farmhouse. The Mingaoebez tinao is shorter and wider than the haystack to achieve adequate ventilation and favorable thermal conditions in the winter months.

The tinao has open lateral arcades on stone pillars.

To the left of the following image appears the construction intended for offices, warehouse and housing, in the center the tinao can be seen and to the right the haystack and the warehouse for machinery close to the era.
